Apple Inc. decided to postpone the introduction of its first augmented reality glasses indefinitely owing to technical difficulties.

As per media reports, the company had initially planned the launch of the AR glasses in 2023, but it got delayed until 2025

Apple is still planning to launch its first mixed reality headset in 2023.

The tech giant's initial mixed reality headset is projected to cost less than $3,000, that information is still not public.

The price would be similar to the iPhone's current price range of $800 to $1,600. Though the company is considering strategies to lower the cost.

The Meta Platforms' released virtual and mixed reality headset, Quest Pro last year. The cost of this VR headset is half of the Apple product's rumoured price.

Apple will try to achieve this by using components available in lower-end Mac machines

Apple's AR/VR headset will be a stand-alone device with twin CPUs for sophisticated virtual reality operations and effective A-series processors within.

The company's long term plan is to ultimately replace the iPhone by moving the smartphone's main functions to a wearer's field of view on the AR glasses.

Apple allegedly developing a less expensive iPhone has been the subject of rumors since last year.
